A typical class begins with light calisthenics and jiu-jitsu inspired movements. Coach Ahmad will focus on one main position per month and go into many variations and connected techniques throughout each class. About half of the class time is spent drilling the technique with training partners, under the close observation of Coach Ahmad. After the technique segment of the class, intermediate and advanced members will practice the techniques in an open-sparring environment. Beginners will also spar but at a moderate pace, in a controlled with specific conditions set in place. This ensures everyone’s sparring session is 100% safe and beginners are actually learning rather than just recklessly fighting with brute force.
